Update on Marcos SONA 2025 as per Presidential Communications Office
MARCOS SONA 2025 – The Presidential Communications Office confirmed that the President finished rehearsing his speech which may take more than an hour.
The fourth State of the Nation Address or SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is set to be held today at the House of Representatives building or the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City. The Chief Executive will deliver his report about the country’s status in front of the Congress, the important guests, and the Filipino people who will be watching it by any means.

Ahead of the annual event, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that there is a low chance of rain expected during the 4th State of the Nation Address of PBBM. Recently, the Presidential Communications Office spoke on the annual event.
Based on a report on GMA News, the PCO said that it will depend on the weather this afternoon if Pres. Bongbong Marcos will board a chopper going to Batasang Pambansa for his State of the Nation Address. It is expected to last for more than an hour.

Furthermore, based on the report, the PCO also confirmed that the President has finished rehearsing for his speech for the Marcos SONA 2025. Like in 2024, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is expected to ditch the annual address of the Chief Executive again.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) previously informed the House Secretary General’s office that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will be skipping the Marcos SONA 2025. Then, the House SecGen’s office stressed that it will still reserve a seat for Duterte in case she changes her mind.

The House Secretary General’s office also claimed that it plans to allot a holding offer for Vice Pres. Duterte and her staff. In 2024, the Vice President also skipped the SONA of the Chief Executive and also refused to watch it in television or online.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she will skip Marcos’ SONA as she will be in South Korea for a gathering with the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). She did not specify the details of her itinerary but confirmed having no plan to attend the annual event. According to her, she does not expected anything substantial about the country in his speech.
The Duterte and Marcos families are not in good terms. Aside from the impeachment process against the Vice President, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was also heavily-blamed over the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte who is currently in The Hague, Netherlands. He remains under the custody of the International Criminal Court.
After the House of Representatives said it is also part of her responsibilities to listen to the annual address, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that there is no law mandating Filipinos to listen to the Marcos SONA 2025.
