Viral Man May Face Charges After Allegedly Slapping Woman in Bacolod Coffee Shop
A viral man who allegedly slapped a woman at a coffee shop in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City is at risk of facing charges.
The incident happened last July 22, 2025 (Tuesday) around 12:30 p.m. at Purok 7, Ylac Street. The woman, identified as 43-year-old Anely Española, filed a complaint for physical injuries against the man.
According to her, the trouble started when a gray Montero Sport parked in front of her house while she was putting up a tarpaulin. She politely asked the driver to move the car slightly to avoid scratching it with the bamboo poles nearby.

However, the man reportedly got irritated by the request. After parking, he walked to a nearby coffee shop. When he returned, he confronted Española and questioned why she supposedly called him arrogant.
She denied saying that, explaining that she was busy speaking to someone else who was setting up her internet connection.
The argument escalated quickly. The man allegedly grabbed Española’s plastic envelope and slapped her twice with it. He then reached for a bottle of soft drinks, seemingly intending to throw it, but it fell before he could grab it.

Española also claimed that the man tossed coins at her and tried to snatch her cellphone when he noticed she was recording the scene. Fortunately, she was able to keep the phone away from him.
The case has been referred to the barangay for settlement. According to Police Major Marc Joel Reclamado of Bacolod Police Station 4, if the two parties fail to reach an agreement at the barangay level, the man may face formal charges.
