Update on PNP Chief Nicolas Torre-Davao City Acting Mayor Baste Duterte Possible Boxing Match
PNP CHIEF – Philippine National Police chief Police General Nicolas Torre III jogged under the rain to prepare for a possible boxing match against Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte.
The statement of Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte that Torre is allegedly brave because he has the authority has reached the current leader of the national police. He also knew that the son of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was challenging him to a “fistfight” as he believes that he can take down the chief of the national police.
During an interview with the press, PNP chief Nicolas Torre agreed to a “charity boxing match” versus Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. According to him, it is a perfect opportunity to help the victims of flood and typhoon as they can donate the funds that they will be able to raise.
According to Torre, a boxing match is easier to set up and they can have it at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. When asked about not having enough time to prepare for the boxing match, the PNP Chief expressed his belief that it won’t hurt match since it is just a charity boxing match.
Torre also claimed that it is fine with him if Duterte has practiced for the match. He stressed that there is “nothing personal” on his part in accepting the challenge of the son of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Yesterday, Torre has started his training for his possible boxing match against Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. He was spotted at the PNP gym in Camp Crame, Quezon City and wearing his training gear as he seriously give every punch.
Recently, based on a post on Inquirer, PNP chief Nicolas Torre III jogged under the rain this morning to prepare for the possible boxing match versus Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. According to PNP spokesperson Brigadier Gen. Jean Fajardo, their boss jogged 10 laps on the PNP Oval in Camp Crame.
To recall, the conflict between Duterte and Torre came after the controversial arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Duterte. The then-chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) played a key role in the arrest of the former Chief Executive.
Recently, Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte laid his own conditions for a boxing match with PNP chief Nicolas Torre III.
