PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (July 23, 2025)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Tropical Depression Dante and Habagat will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (July 23, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Dante and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA assistant chief Christopher Perez reported that Tropical Depression Dante and two other low-pressure areas will enhance the southwest monsoon.

Dante was last spotted 880 kilometers East of extreme Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph. The weather disturbance may reach the tropical storm category within the next 12 hours.
One LPA was spotted 155 km east southeast of Basco, Batanes, while the other one was located 2,850 km east of the Eastern Visayas region outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The enhanced habagat will bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Metro Manila, Benguet, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Occidental Mindoro.

Occasional rains are expected over the rest of MIMAROPA, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.
The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela.
Habagat will also bring similar weather conditions to the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms, according to PAGASA.

“We have had several days of rainfall, and some areas have been flooded. Those living at the foot of mountains still face the threat of sudden landslides. Even if the rain is only light to moderate, if your area has been soaked for days due to the rains, the ground may have already softened and can cause landslides,” Perez said.
