In an interview, DILG Chief Jonvic Remulla speaks about the posts.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla defended his agency’s announcement style.
Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Catibayan Remulla is currently the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). In a previous article, people online were not amused by the walang pasok posts announced in a humorous way.

According to them, there’s always a right time and place to pull off such playfulness, and it’s not during the times of disaster when the public’s welfare is at stake. Moreover, it appeared the posts made showed the agency seemingly lacked seriousness and empathy.
One of the posts said: “Mga Abangers, Sarap ng bogchi ko. Sa kabusugan ay naka idlip nang sandali. Oh eto na inaabangan ninyo!”
Jake Ejercito and Jessy Mendiola reacted to the posts. Ejercito wrote, “There’s a time and place for trying to be funny — this isn’t one of them,” while Mendiola quipped, “Is this supposed to be funny?”
Recently, amid the buzz that the posts were surrounded, the DILG chief made clarifications. According to him, he referenced his messaging style during his time as governor of Cavite, and people from Cavite understood him, as he had no intentions to offend anybody.
“Siguro hindi nila ako naiintindihan. Mabiro talaga ako. Hindi ko naman minamaliit ang pinaghihirapan nila. Ang ginagawa ko lang, ang pagpapaalala ay ginagawa kong mas magaan para hindi naman negative vibes lagi ang naririnig,” he explained.
He understood the reactions of others perceiving the posts as inappropriate, and with this, he apologized, but it was just how he is. He just hoped that other people would understand.
In a post on Facebook that has been removed, he wrote:
“Ang daming letga (galit). Pasensya na, pero hindi na ako magbabago ng ugali. Kung ang biro ko ay di karapat-dapat para sa inyo, tandaan ninyong wala naman akong minura, minaliit, o hinamak. Wala rin akong binola o sinabing kasinungalingan. A little humor never hurt anyone.”
