Donate Blood, Save Lives: VP Sara Duterte’s Call to Action This July
SARA DUTERTE – In a heartfelt appeal for National Blood Donor’s Month, Vice President Sara Duterte is urging Filipinos to become life-saving heroes by donating blood.
In observance of National Blood Donor’s Month, Vice President Sara Duterte called on Filipinos to participate in the nationwide blood donation campaign to help those in need. Through a message shared on the official Facebook page of the Office of the Vice President, Duterte emphasized the life-saving importance of donating blood, stating that it is a way “to give hope and save lives.”
She appealed to the public to support the initiative by donating clean and safe blood, stressing how vital it is for patients facing serious medical conditions. “Having uncontaminated blood would not only be helpful to many Filipino patients who are in need of (blood). It also gives hope to people and their families in the entire country who are facing different health problems,” Duterte said.

The Vice President also pointed out that the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continue to accept blood donations to maintain a steady supply across the country. “It is for this reason that this month, I am encouraging people to go to the nearest blood donation center and be part of the program that gives hope and saves lives,” she added.
Filipinos willing to contribute may do so by visiting any DOH-accredited blood center or PRC facility. Additionally, they can take part in organized bloodletting events within their communities. For further guidance and to find out where to donate, individuals may contact the PRC hotlines at 143 or 1158, or visit their official website at https://redcross.org.ph.

The observance of National Blood Donor’s Month serves as a reminder of the critical role voluntary donors play in saving lives and supporting the country’s healthcare system. With the encouragement of government leaders like Vice President Duterte, the campaign hopes to inspire more Filipinos to take this generous step toward saving lives.
