Imee Marcos wants an explanation from the Palace regarding Tantoco’s death
Senator Imee Marcos released a statement urging the Malacañang Palace to release a comprehensive report on Rustan’s heir Paolo Tantoco’s death.
Based on reports, Tantoco died on March 8, 2025, in the US. Just recently, the LA County Medical Examiner confirmed that Tantoco died from c0caine use.
Four months ago, rumors surfaced that FL Liza was detained in the US because it was alleged that she was with Tantoco at that time. The Palace released a statement debunking the allegation against the wife of President Bongbong Marcos.

Amid the issue surrounding the death of Rustan’s heir, Sen. Imee Marcos urged Malacañang to release a comprehensive report. The lawmaker pointed out that “apparently,” Tantoco was part of the First Lady’s entourage when she went to Los Angeles to support the Manila International Film Festival.
“More troubling are claims circulating online that the First Lady may have personal knowledge of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Tantoco’s death – with some alleging that she was present at the scene either shortly before, during, or immediately after the incident,” Sen. Imee said.

With the “gravity” of the allegations against FL Liza and the undeniable public interest, the Senator wants the Palace to issue a comprehensive report on the businessman’s death, including any involvement of the First Lady, as well as other government officials, whether it is direct or indirect.
Sen. Imee Marcos also wants to explain the whereabouts of the First Lady at the relevant time to reflect this in the official records, such as the Medical Examiner’s Report, that could debunk the speculation.

Just recently, a screenshot of the death investigation document circulated online. The unverified document stated that FL Liza Marcos, as well as actress Alexa Miro, were in the room where Tantoco’s lifeless body was found.
