The abducted MV Eternity C crew will be rescued.
Search and rescue operations are underway for the seafarers abducted by Houthi militants after they attacked and sank MV Eternity C.
As of the latest update, 10 people have been rescued from the Red Sea after the Houthi forces attacked and sank MV Eternity C near Yemen. It is reported that the Yemeni militia had taken some of the crew, and according to maritime security sources, they are holding six crew members.

Three of the 25 people on board were killed in the attack, and some of the crew were abducted. 22 members comprised the ship’s crew – 21 Filipinos and one Russian – while the other three were the security team on board.
Of the 10 people rescued, eight of them were Filipinos and the two were security personnel. This is the second ship that the militants attacked after months of calm. From November 2023 to December 2024, they had attacked over 100 ships.
The rest of the crew are still unaccounted for.
According to Migrant Workers Undersecretary Bernard Olalia, the eight rescued Filipinos are now in a safe place and will be repatriated soon from the Red Sea to the Philippines. He added, “Ongoing pa ang ating search and rescue, kasama natin dito ang Department of Foreign Affairs at Department of National Defense para sa paghahanap sa kalagayan ng mga Filipino seafarers.”
According to the information gathered, their ship was supposed to navigate the Red Sea to Israel. They came from Somalia and planned to go to the Jeddah port for bunkering before going to Israel.
“Alam niyo sa Red Sea, na-identify kasi ng Yemeni at Houthis ang patungo na direksyon ng mga barko kaya nata-target ang barko. Kaya matagal na nating sinasabi sa shipowners na iwasan ang Red Sea,” he said. The seafarers also have the right to refuse to sail in warlike zones.
