Authorities are searching for the missing sabungeros in Taal Lake and have found these suspicious objects.
MISSING SABUNGEROS IN TAAL LAKE – Another day was spent searching for the missing people, and authorities have found this on the second day.
During the technical site assessment, the authorities have found a sack containing burnt bones in Taal Lake several meters away from the shore. It is feared to be human remains, but experts have yet to confirm if those bones really belong to humans.

In a previous article, a forensic pathologist explained that bones can help in the investigation; however, the burnt ones have a lower chance of being identified. One of the methods that can be used in determining the identity is DNA testing, and they have reminded the family to already prepare the personal belongings of the missing sabungeros and their previous medical records, as these details could greatly help them.
On the first official day of the search, more sacks were found, and on the following day, July 12, a technical diver had marked one “suspicious” object according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Southern Tagalog.
PCG Southern Tagalog commander Commodore Jerome Tuvilla said that the search has become extremely difficult because of the lake’s condition. Today, they have no visibility of the water, and the divers even started combing the lake floor by hand to mark anything unusual or suspicious for the forensic team to examine.
They have not retrieved anything yet as they are waiting for the Scene of the Crime Operatives, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and the National Bureau of Investigation to be present for proper documentation and to follow safety protocols and technical procedures.
He said, “We’ll be heading to the site to speak directly with the diver who made the marking. It’s important to clarify what was felt underwater compared to what gets relayed over the radio.”
