The ABS-CBN tower has been turned off, and famous personalities said their goodbyes.
ABS-CBN TOWER – Local celebrities expressed gratitude to ABS-CBN as they bade farewell to its iconic Millennium Transmitter.
It was an emotional day for the stars and workers of ABS-CBN as they said their goodbyes to the iconic Millennium Transmitter. To recall, the Ayala Group acquired the historic site, which included the Broadcasting Center, last February. The iconic tower would be the first to be removed, and that day has finally come.
Actress and celebrity mom Sofia Andres was emotional in an Instagram post as the tower, for many, including her, stood tall as a sign of hope and dreams. She used to be the young girl who looked up to it with only her belief in her dreams. The tower may no longer be standing, but it will always be a part of her journey.
Jed Madela took a photo with the tower and expressed his loyalty to the network, no matter what. Actress and singer Nikki Valdez looked back on some of the memorable moments that the tower has witnessed. It was there when she fought many battles, and this landmark is a symbol of her dreams turned reality.
Dimples Romana penned a heartfelt tribute to the tower, an establishment that became a beacon they could “always look up to when times get rough.” It stood there, seeing them grow, dream, and persevere.
Seasoned actress Cherry Pie Picache was also emotional as she said goodbye to the physical representation of their dreams, hard work, livelihood, creation, stories, memories, hope, service, and love. The physical presence may be lost, but the connection will always stay.
Amy Perez, Carmi Martin, Donny Pangilinan, Gretchen Ho, Gretchen Fullido, Yeng Constantino, Gary Valenciano, John Prats, Jessy Mendiola, Ogie Alcasid, Christine Babao, Julius Babao, Marc Logan, and Kim Atienza were among those who also expressed their gratitude to the icon that have all become a part of their career.
