Duterte Allies Back Resolution of Sen. Robin Padilla Calling for Former President’s Repatriation
ROBIN PADILLA – The resolution authored by the Senator calling for the return of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gained the signatures of senators Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Christopher “Bong” Go.
Undeniably, there are solid Duterte allies in the Senate. One of them is Sen. Padilla who reiterated his loyalty to the Duterte family ahead of the Senate convening as an impeachment court in the trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Sen. Robin Padilla previously claimed that if he will be burned, he will smell like former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Undeniably, the said remarks of the actor-turned-politician did not sit well with many people. A lot of Filipinos questioned his loyalty to the country.
Padilla was also present at the Philippine Independence Day celebration in Malaysia attended by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and fellow Duterte ally, presidential sister and reelected Sen. Imee Marcos. He even made claims that sparked headlines in his speech at the event.

In Malaysia, Sen. Robin Padilla called Vice Pres. Sara Duterte as “the next president of the Philippines”. Previously, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte expressed his belief that his arrest could lead to his daughter’s immediate presidency or in the future.

Countless Duterte supporters are calling for the return of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the Philippine government were heavily criticized over the controversial arrest of the former President and the transfer of his custody to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Previously, Sen. Robin Padilla attempted to file a resolution calling for Duterte’s repatriation but it was not accepted by the Senate’s Bill and Index Section as the 19th Congress has already adjourned. He planned to refile it.
Based on a report on GMA News, the resolution of Sen. Robin Padilla calling for the return of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte gained the signatures of two (2) Duterte allies — Sen. Bong Go and Sen. Bato dela Rosa. It has yet to be filed in the 20th Congress.
“This is more than just a resolution. It is a call for unity, for respect of our sovereignty, and for justice for a former President who bravely served the nation,” he said.

According to Sen. Robin Padilla, the resolution remains open for the senators who wanted to sign it in the coming days. Based on the report, the resolution seeks to express the sense of the Senate to convince the government for the immediate return of the former President.
Previously, in Malaysia, Sen. Robin Padilla claimed that he will be the campaign manager of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Sen. Imee Marcos in 2028.
