PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Bising to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Tropical Depression Bising will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Friday (July 4, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area off the coast of the Babuyan Group of Islands has developed into Tropical Depression Bising.

PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin De La Cruz reported that Tropical Depression Bising was spotted 200 kilometers west-northwest of Calayan, Cagayan. It has maximum sustained winds of 20 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

Bising is the second tropical cyclone to form inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Batanes, and mainland Cagayan.

The weather disturbance is expected to leave PAR today, but it has a chance to enter the western boundary of the country by Sunday (July 6). The storm might strengthen into a tropical storm by Saturday afternoon or evening (July 5).

Bising will continue moving generally westward slowly in the next 12 hours and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility today. Afterwards, it will turn northeastward,” PAGASA said.

Habagat will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
