According to the PNP, Totoy of the missing sabungeros case has no warrant of arrest.
MISSING SABUNGEROS CASE – The Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office-13 revealed the whistleblower has no standing warrant of arrest.
Alyas Totoy revealed previously that Atong Ang is the mastermind in the case of the missing sabungeros. Gretchen Barretto was also involved, and he urged her to step forward, speak up, and testify against Ang. As per him, they were always together, and she knows all of his secrets.
The cockfighting enthusiasts went missing four years ago and were not found until now. It is feared that there are not just 34 people killed and thrown in Taal Lake – there were over a hundred, and this is based on the claims of Alyas Totoy.
Who is Totoy, the whistleblower?
After coming forward, he revealed his identity, and he is Julie “Dondon” Patidongan. He was a longtime farm manager and former trusted aide of businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang.
He confessed to having been deeply involved in Ang’s operations. While working under him, he was overseeing various farms for around 15 years, but things started to change when he and his family’s safety was put in a compromised situation. Allegedly, Ang threatened them.
“Ako ang pinagkakatiwalaan niya sa lahat ng bagay at isa akong farm manager sa lahat ng farm ni Mr. Atong Ang,” Patidongan told ABS-CBN News.
As per his statement, he can take his secrets to the grave, but his family got involved. During a press briefing, Atong Ang acknowledged their closeness, but firmly denied any involvement in the case he was accused.
“Tinuring kitang parang anak ko,” Ang said.
Patidongan and five other individuals are facing kidnapping and serious illegal detention associated with the January 2022 disappearance of several cockfighting enthusiasts from Tanay.
Despite the claims and revelations, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office-13 said on Thursday that Totoy has no standing warrant of arrest. This is according to Police Major Jennifer Ometer, the chief of the Regional Public Information Office-PRO13.
They have not received anything yet, including the claims about his posters as a mayoral candidate of the province of Surigao Del Sur.
