Malacañang Speaks on Stand of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Admin over ‘Missing Sabungeros’ Case

BONGBONG MARCOS – Malacañang announced that the President will not favor “even well-known personalities” in the case of ‘missing sabungeros’.

Recently, countless Filipinos were surprised and saddened by a claim of a “whistleblower” that as many as 100 sabungeros were allegedly hurt and thrown into the waters of Taal lake. The disclosure came around four (4) years after 34 cockfight enthusiasts went missing.

The said “whistleblower” tagged Chinese-Filipino business tycoon Atong Ang and former actress Gretchen Barretto as the alleged mastermind on the ‘missing sabungeros’ case. The camp of Ang was quick to deny the allegations saying that alias “Totoy” lacks credibility.

Ang is known as one of the riches people in the Philippines. He and Gretchen were seen related as close associates during the height of the online sabong. The two (2) celebrities were also previously linked to each other after they were spotted holding each other’s hand while sleeping during a flight.

Charlie Ang or more popularly called as Atong Ang said his camp will file a case against the “whistleblower” who tagged him in the case of the ‘missing sabungeros’. Department of Justice secretary Boying Remulla confirmed that both Ang and Gretchen Barretto are now considered “suspects” in the case following the claim of alias “Totoy”.

Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos demanded justice as the probe over the case of the ‘missing sabungeros’ deepened. Recently, with the recent developments on the case, Malacañang aired the side of the Chief Executive after known personalities were shockingly tagged in the case.

Based on a report on Inquirer, Malacañang stressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the administration will not favor even known personalities in the case of the ‘missing sabungeros’.

“Anyone, regardless of their status in life — even well-known personalities — will not be spared by the President and the administration,” Palace press undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said.

Castro further said that there is accountability to be faced, an in-depth probe on the case of the missing cockfight enthusiasts must be conducted. Based on the report, the Malacañang official stressed that the investigation is in the pursuit of giving “justice” to the family of the victims.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said there is currently no standing warrant of arrest against alias “Totoy” over the case of the ‘missing sabungeros’.
