Some Parts of Metro Manila Experience Flooding Due to Monsoon Rains
FLOODING – Continuous heavy monsoon rains have caused flooding in several areas of Metro Manila and Rizal.
On Thursday, July 3, 2025, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued flood bulletins for communities near rivers and creeks, warning of possible water level rise that could lead to flooding.
The alert covers rivers such as Marikina, Pasig, San Juan, and Tullahan, as well as smaller rivers and creeks that flow through residential areas. The rainfall, made heavier by a low-pressure area, is expected to continue over the next 12 hours.

A yellow rainfall warning was issued early Thursday, signaling the risk of flash floods in parts of Luzon.
Here is the list of areas at risk of flooding:
- Quezon City – near San Juan, Pasig, Tullahan, and Upper Marikina Rivers
- Marikina City – near Upper Marikina and Nangka Rivers
- Pasig City – near Pasig River, Lower Marikina River, and Buli Creek

Emergency supplies, boats, and tents are ready, and free anti-leptospirosis medicine is available for residents who may have waded through the water.
A flood control pumping station is also under construction near the San Juan River to help reduce future flooding in the area.
