Actress Gretchen Barretto is now considered a suspect in the case.
In the case of the missing sabungeros, actress Gretchen Barretto is now considered one of the suspects, along with businessman Atong Ang.
In a previous article, a female celebrity was among the ‘alpha’ members according to the claims of a whistleblower, who was also among the accused in the case of the missing cockfighting enthusiasts.

Four years ago, cockfighting enthusiasts mysteriously disappeared, and there were 34 disappearances were reported. However, according to the whistleblower, it is feared that over a hundred were killed and thrown into Taal Lake.
“May isang babaeng celebrity, ‘di ko naman pangalanan at alam na nila ‘yan. Kasama siya sa alpha member. Ibig sabihin kasama siya sa grupo,” Alyas Totoy said. Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla reacted to this, but refused to make any comments as they have to validate data first.
Recently, after Atong Ang and Barretto were tagged in the case, the Justice Secretary said during an interview that they have nothing to do but investigate them as they were already named. They are considered as among the suspects now, as they have been identified.
“Mapapasama sila kasi nga pinangalanan sila, then we will have to include them as suspects,” Remulla said in an interview. When asked about the timeline for the filing of cases against the two, he said that it may happen “sooner than later.”
“I-evaluate ‘yan ng ating group of fiscals who will be assigned to evaluate all the evidence so that we will know what cases to file properly,” he said.
Ang maintained his innocence earlier, stating he would sue the whistleblowers for accusations made. Ang will file charges against the whistleblowers, and these charges include robbery, grave threats, grave coercions, slander, at incriminating innocent people.
Meanwhile, Barretto has not issued any statements yet.
