On Wednesday (July 2, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz reported that the Low Pressure Area inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Our latest analysis likewise shows that within the next 24 hours, this LPA will be slowly moving and there is still a high chance that it will approach our land,” Dela Cruz said.

The LPA was last spotted 200 kilometers east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora.

The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Nueva Ecija.

Similar weather conditions are expected over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the rest of Central Luzon.

Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.

Another tropical depression outside the country’s vicinity is being monitored 2,660 kilometers east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.

Based on our analysis and based on the latest data, it is moving away, and it will not have any impact on any part of our landmass,” she added.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA
