Honeylet Avanceña Speaks on Selling of Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Davao House amid his ICC Detention
RODRIGO DUTERTE’S DAVAO HOUSE – Honeylet Avanceña confirmed the selling of the residential property amid the detention of the former President.
Last June 19, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte marked his 100th day in detention under the ICC or the International Criminal Court. He is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands and is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity over his administration’s war on drugs.

According to his eldest son, Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte, as a son, the pain from the situation of his father is “immeasurable”. The camp of the former President is currently seeking for his interim release from the ICC.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said not all her father’s needs can be met inside the ICC detention facility so they asked for his interim release. The Vice President cited the age of the former Chief Executive — he is 80 years old now.

All the children of the former President have visited him in The Hague. His ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, and his current partner, Honeylet Avanceña, have also visited him inside the ICC detention. Countless Duterte supporters are hoping for his return to the country.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte won the mayoralty race in Davao City during the 2025 Midterm Elections. However, according to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, it is not sure if former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte can take his oath as mayor.
The Department of Interior and Local Government or DILG previously said former Pres. Duterte has to report physically in office to perform his duties as mayor of Davao. Otherwise, the city may be governed by his son, Davao vice mayor-elect Baste Duterte.
Recently, many netizens were left in doubts after photos of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Davao House with a “for sale” sign crossed the social media. Based on a report on PhilStar, the said residential property is located at Doña Luisa Village Phase 1.

The selling of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Davao house was confirmed by his common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña. In an interview with dzRH, the former President’s long-time partner claimed she no longer sleeps at their house due to security reasons.
“It pains me every time I go there. I’m the only one who visits there now. There are four househelp but with no master. We abandoned it after what happened,” Avanceña said.
Based on the report, the lawyers also advised the installation of CCTV in former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Davao House including the bedroom. Honeylet Avanceña that is why she cannot sleep there anymore.
However, now, it is unclear if the Duterte family decided not to sell the house anymore or it has already been sold. New sport utility vehicles owned by Cebu Landmasters were spotted parked at the back area of the residential property.
The Cebu Landmasters is owned by the Davao Global Township. Based on the report, the back portion of the residential property “has been covered with galvanized iron roofing marked ‘The East Village of DGT (Davao Global Township) Live Amazing'”. Newly-built and painted structures were found at the back of the property as well.
Amid the request of the former President, an ICC prosecutor opposed the interim release of former Pres. Duterte.
