Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto formally took his oath of office on Monday, June 30, and during his speech, he honored his parents.
Veteran celebrities Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes are the parents of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto. Despite his parents’ influence in the show business industry, he took a different path to serve the public. Mayor Vico won in the Halalan 2025 or the midterm elections.
He won by a landslide in Pasig and defeated opponents Sara Discaya, Cory Palma, and Eagle Ayaon. This is his third and last term as mayor. He ran as an independent and garnered 351,392 votes from 519 clustered precincts
On Monday, June 30, her officially and formally took his oath of office during the Turnover Ceremony for Incoming Elected Officials held at South Drive, Bridgetowne, Barangay Rosario, Pasig City.
Based on a previous article, during his inaugural address, Mayor Vico revealed he is not running in the 2028 elections. He said, “2028, hindi ako tatakbo. Ngayon pa lang sinasabi ko na sa inyo. Kaya malaya akong gawin kung anong tingin ko ang tama.”
In the same event, both of his parents, Sotto and Reyes, were with him on stage when he took his oath. He discussed many things during his speech, but did not forget to mention his parents and family. He did not forget to thank them for their support.

He expressed, “Siyempre, last but not the least, sa aking pamilya, lalo na sa aking mama at papa. Nakita niyo naman, walang hihigit pa sa suporta na pinakita nila, hindi lang sa akin, kundi sa ating lahat. Maraming salamat, Papa and Mama.”
As for his detractors who attempted to stain his reputation during the midterm elections, he did not mince words to address what they did. He said, “Nakita nila, narinig nila sa sarili nilang mata at tainga. Kung magkano yung mga kickback na binibigay nila sa mga politiko, pero yun yung pinili nilang suportahan. uli po, kung hindi nila alam, okay lang po sana. Kaso ang problema, alam nila. And that says more about them than it does about me.”
As for his opponents, he extended a hand of peace and unity for the betterment of their city.
