PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Friday (June 27, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the Southwest Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Visayas, Mindanao, and the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

A low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression.
“The second scenario is the possibility that another LPA may form in eastern Luzon, within the PAR, and the current LPA will either be absorbed by it or simply merge with it outside the PAR,” Estareja said.
The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Visayas, MIMAROPA, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, and Batangas.

Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Mindanao. The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of Luzon.
“So that means, early next week, it is possible that we will have another weather system or weather disturbance to monitor here in eastern Luzon in our country,” he added.
“And it will pull the southwest monsoon in the next few days or until the first few days of July, and it will also gradually strengthen, so sometimes we will also have heavy rains in the next few days,” he explained.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the western section of Southern Luzon, as well as the rest of the country, will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
