Bela Padilla and JC Santos worked together in several movies
Actress Bela Padilla and actor JC Santos talked about their successful partnership as they did their sixth project together.
Bela and JC have done several projects already. Their first movie together was 100 Tula Para Kay Stella 2017. Moviegoers loved their onscreen chemistry, and this continued with another movie in 2018, which was The Day After Valentine’s.
In 2020, they did another movie, Vodka, Beers, and Regrets, and two years after that, they did the movie 366. The following year, they starred together in the film Wish You Were The One.
They were also cast members in the 2019 film Miracle In Cell No. 7, but they did not have a scene together. Now, for their sixth movie, they were the lead stars in 100 Awit Para Kay Stella.
Based on the article in PEP, even though JC Santos is already married to his non-showbiz wife Shyleena Herrera since 2019, fans are still loving the chemistry between him and Bela Padilla.
“Surprised din kami sa idea na yon,” JC said about his onscreen partnership with Bela, adding that it is easy for them to work with each other. “We know each other well na kaya naming saluhin yung isa’t isa sa mga eksena na, in a way, magandang tingnan. Suwerte!” he said.
Bela recalled the time when she first watched JC’s acting, and she really admired him. “He’s a brilliant actor. Bago pa man kami umapak sa 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, napanood ko muna yung trabaho niya,” she shared.
The actress shared that she was invited to watch the premiere of Till I Met You in 2016, which was the series of the JaDine loveteam of James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
Back then, Bela already knew that JC would be her leading man in 100 Tula para kay Stella. When she saw him onscreen, she got excited to work with the actor.
“Ang galing niya dun. It was such a breakthrough role for him tapos ang fresh ng hitsura niya,” Bela shared. She was excited to work with someone who has a refreshing approach to scenes.
During their first day of taping, Bela said that they had no problem, and every scene was one take. They easily connected to each other because they had the same wavelength.
The actress also considered the actor one of her closest friends in the entertainment industry. “I feel pati sa personal part ng buhay namin, lagi kaming nagtutugma kung ano yung pinagdadaanan ng isa’t isa,” she said.
Bela Padilla added that they would give each other advice, and they are like work friends. “Nabibigyan namin ng advice ang isa’t isa na maayos. Parang hindi kami work friends lang,” sabi ni Bela.
