After Duterte was arrested last March 11, one of those who immediately fled to The Hague, Netherlands was Sen. Robin Padilla who claimed he wants to talk to Duterte as the president of the PDP-Laban. The former Chief Executive is the political party’s chairman.

Padilla’s pursuit then was in the middle of the campaign period for the 2025 Midterm Elections. However, it was not clear whether or not the ICC allowed the senator to see the former President.
