Statement of Malacañang on PH Debt Hitting P16 Trillion
Malacañang reacted to the statement of Vice President Sara Duterte on the Philippine debt by taking swipe against the administration of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The rift between the President and the Vice President is no secret to the Filipino people. Since she left the Marcos administration, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has been throwing shades against the Chief Executive.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and her camp also believes that Pres. Bongbong Marcos and his administration are allegedly behind the impeachment moves against her. It is despite the claim of Marcos Jr. that he is against Duterte’s impeachment.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the Marcos Cabinet allegedly has “no plan at all”. According to her, she has been part of the administration and there was allegedly no direction at all to where the country is heading. The Vice President also recently hit the national debt of the Philippines.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte raised a question on what happened to the P16 trillion national debt of the Philippines. Malacañang reacted to the remarks of the Vice President against the national debt allegedly ballooning.

Malacañang press officer Atty. Claire Castro clarified that the P16 trillion is a total debt of the Philippines — the accumulated debt from the past administrations. She stressed that the said debt includes the debt during the term of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“May kasabihan nga tayo, ang hindi marunong tumingin sa pinanggalingan ay hindi talaga malalaman ang katotohanan,” she said.
Based on the report, Castro also stressed that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration allegedly has the biggest debt reaching P12.7 trillion as of June 2022. The Malacañang Press Officer also said that the solo debt of the Duterte admin has reached P6.84 trillion as of June 2022.
“At tatandaan din natin, ang administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Duterte ang naitalang may pinakamataas na naging utang na umabot ng P12.79 trillion as of June 2022. At solong utang po ng administrasyong Duterte ay umaabot ng P6.84 trillion as of June 2022. At nagkaroon ng increase ng 115.1 percent sa pagkaka-utang,” the Malacañang Press Officer said.

Atty. Claire Castro hit Vice Pres. Sara Duterte saying that it is really hard to teach someone who does not know anything and has no intention to gain knowledge. The Palace official further said that it is hard to open the eyes of the blind and those who choose not to see.
Recently, Malacañang reacted to the frequent abroad travels of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. She has been to four (4) countries in less than a month — Doha, Qatar; The Hague, Netherlands; Malaysia; and Australia.
