Pres. Bongbong Marcos Says He Won’t Intervene w/ VP Sara Duterte Impeachment Process
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President doubts Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ claim that he will not intervene with the impeachment process.
In a recent podcast, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that he has no role in the impeachment process of Vice Pres. Duterte. He affirmed that a president may have a say on the impeachment process but stressed that he chooses not to. According to him, he is busy focusing in his work for the Filipinos and the country.

More than two-thirds of the members of the House of Representatives approved the impeachment of Vice Pres. Duterte. However, the Senate faced criticisms for allegedly delaying the start of the impeachment trial.
The Senate, as an impeachment court, has decided to remand the Articles of Impeachment against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to the House of Representatives. The senator judges got questions about the constitutionality of the impeachment as well as required a reconfirmation from the 20th Congress.

Several incoming senators weighed in on the impeachment trial of Duterte. Senator-elect Kiko Pangilinan believes that the Senate impeachment court got the duty to “try and decide”. Senator-elect Erwin Tulfo said Duterte’s impeachment trial must proceed to the 20th Congress.

Malacañang has repeatedly stressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will not intervene with the impeachment process of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. In one instance, to clarify doubts, the Palace admitted that the President wants the impeachment process to push through but maintained that he will not have a hand on it.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her doubt on the claim of Pres. Bongbong Marcos that he will not intervene with the impeachment process. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, she stressed that the President allegedly does not stay true to his word.
“He gives conflicting statements, truly. The very first day of this administration. In fact, he has not followed through with any of his campaign promises,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, the Vice President also claimed that the statement of the President is allegedly an example of fooling the people. According to her, they are not anymore surprised.
“And that is an example of the conflict with regard to our president. Well, budol in English is ‘scam’ no? Well, we are not surprised. He has the hallmark of a scammer,” she said.
In his latest podcast, Pres. Bongbong Marcos did not only say that he chooses not to intervene with the impeachment process but he is also busy focusing in helping the Filipino people and doing things for the betterment of the country. According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, they hope that there will be “some sort of truth” in the statements of the President.
Previously, Malacañang claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is not open to any dialogue pertaining to the impeachment process of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
