PAGASA Says Southwest Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Monday (June 23, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil reported that Southwest Monsoon will prevail over the country on Monday and will bring rains.

“We can see in our latest satellite image the thick cloud clusters affecting most parts of the country this early morning — this is the continuous effect of southwest monsoon or habagat,” Villamil said
The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, BARMM, Soccsksargen, Davao Region, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.
Habagat will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.

A tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility is currently being monitored. It was last spotted at 2,495 km east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It is moving northwestward at 20 kph.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
