Elderly Man Hit by Racing Cyclists Decides Not to Files Case Against Biker
An elderly man went viral online after he was badly hurt by a group of reckless cyclists racing on the street.
Recently, Shalamar Osabel, a Facebook user, shared photos of an elderly man who chose forgiveness over revenge after being hit by racing cyclists. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
The incident, which happened eight years ago, gained attention again after photos and videos were shared on TikTok and Facebook.
According to the victim’s daughter, her father was simply walking along the road when a group of cyclists came speeding past. One of them accidentally hit him, causing him to fall and hit his head hard on the pavement.
The injury was serious and led to internal bleeding, requiring surgery. The accident left him paralyzed. Since then, he has been unable to work and now uses a wheelchair, relying fully on his family for care and support.
The elderly man refused to file a case against the cyclist, who was about to graduate from college at that time. He didn’t want to ruin the young person’s future, even if it meant letting go of justice for himself.
“Ayaw ko masira ang buhay nya kaya ayaw ko kasohan,” the man said.
Despite the pain and the difficult changes in their lives, the family chose to move forward with love and strength. They continue to take care of him.
