Amid the Resumption of Classes, PNP Chief Nicolas Torre III Speaks on Bullying Cases in Schools
PNP chief Nicolas Torre III announced that bullying cases in schools may now be reported to the 911 hotline of the Philippine National Police.
The national police now has a new leader who succeeded former PNP chief Rommel Francisco Marbil. Malacañang confirmed the pick of President Bongbong Marcos last May 29. He chose among at least five (5) police generals who were qualified to lead the national police.

Former Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Nicolas Torre III was chosen by Pres. Bongbong Marcos to be the PNP chief after Marbil. The former PNP Chief’s extension of service was set to expire this July.
Marcos Jr. challenged Torre to keep the police ranks clean and to speed up the investigations on the cases that allegedly involved erring cops. New PNP Chief Police Gen. Nicolas Torre III vowed that the police will be worthy of public trust under his lead.

Furthermore, Torre also wanted his 3-minute police response program to be implemented nationwide. There were already reports of cops removed from service for an alleged failure to comply with the 3-minute police response program.

Based on a report on GMA News, PNP chief Nicolas Torre III announced that bullying cases in schools may now be reported to the national police hotline 911. According to him, afterwards, the local police station with the jurisdiction on the school wherein the alleged incident happened is expected to get in touch with the school authorities.
“We are coordinating with the schools. Sisiguraduhin natin na walang bullying,” Torre said.
Citing Mark Makalalad’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, based on the report, the new PNP Chief has also ordered the police commanders to ensure the safety of the students by looking out for street crimes as classes resumes. The cops were also ordered to look after the school children who might fall victims to crimes who might intend to take their belongings like mobile phones.
Amid the good words that many government officials in the Marcos administration has for the new chief of the national police, outgoing Davao Mayor Baste Duterte previously claimed that PNP chief Nicolas Torre III’s appointment is allegedly based on favor.
Torre was one of the lead implementers of the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He was also one of the key officials in the arrest of Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder and leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
