K Brosas Shares How Her LGBT Daughter Was Outed by a Friend
K BROSAS – Comedienne and singer K Brosas emotionally recalled how her LGBT daughter was outed by a friend without her consent.
K Brosas recently opened up about an emotional chapter in her family’s life during a heartfelt appearance on Vice Ganda’s vlog. Joined by her daughter Tal—formerly known as Crystal—K shared how Tal was outed as a lesbian by someone else, without her consent.
K recalled the shocking moment she learned the news not from Tal, but through a mutual friend. “Chinika niya… Yung lalaki chinika sa lahat ng friends, hindi chinika sa akin. ‘Yung kaniyang friend na friend din natin, juicy, chumika sa akin ng casual. ‘Balita ko tomboy anak mo.’ Alam mo ‘yung nanginginig ‘yung luha ko na nanggigigil ako,” she said, describing the intense mix of anger and sadness she felt.
Despite the betrayal, K explained that as a mother, she had long sensed that Tal was hiding something personal and significant from her. Still, she chose to wait with patience and understanding. “Bilang nanay, nararamdaman ko na. Naghihintay lang ako na ‘ah magsasabi ‘to,’ so naghihintay lang ako ng cue niya,” she said.
When the truth finally surfaced, K responded with love. “Sabi ko ganito: nalaman ko na… Pero gusto kong malaman mo na alam ko na at bago ka pa magsalita, tanggap na tanggap kita mula puyo hanggang talampakan.”
Tal, on the other hand, explained that she had confided in a male friend whom she trusted. “Nakuha kasi niya ang loob ko kasi mabait siya eh… parang nanghingi ako ng advice,” she said.
However, the act of being outed without her consent deeply hurt her. “‘Yun kasi ‘yung pinaka parang betrayal sa sarili mo ‘pag may nag-out sa’yo, hindi mo na own ‘yun eh. Hindi ko man lang na-own yun on my own time.”
Still, Tal reflected on the incident with grace. “At the same time, it was also a blessing in disguise, kasi baka ‘pag tumagal, baka until now hindi pa rin ako out,” she said.
The candid conversation offered viewers a glimpse into the challenges of coming out, while highlighting the unconditional love and support between mother and daughter.
