PAGASA Says 3 Weather Systems to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that ITCZ, easterlies, and localized thunderstorms will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (June 16, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone, easterlies, and localized thunderstorms will bring rains over several parts of the country.

“This area of Quezon and the Bicol Region, due to the easterlies, can expect cloudy skies and scattered rain showers with thunderstorms,” weather specialist Daniel Villamil said.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region, and Quezon. Flash floods or landslides are possible due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

“We can expect the cloudy weather to persist in this area, with most of the rain likely to occur in the afternoon and evening,” Villamil said.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley and Aurora.

The ITCZ will bring similar weather conditions over Mindanao. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

However, fair weather is expected in Mindanao and Palawan in the afternoon and evening.

The weather agency said that no low-pressure area is being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Tropical Depression Auring weakened into a low-pressure area as it left the country’s vicinity.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.

No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
