PAGASA Says LPA to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Thursday (June 12, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that a low-pressure area was last located 235 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.

“It has a high chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours, and it is moving upwards or north, northwest. And we are also seeing that its movement is becoming faster,” Castañeda said.
The LPA is expected to bring rain to parts of Extreme Northern Luzon.
“Due to this, there is a possibility that when it becomes a full-fledged tropical cyclone, it will be close to the Taiwan area, and there is also a possibility that its stay will be short or will dissipate within less than 48 hours,” she added.

The southwest monsoon will bring monsoon rains over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
Habagat will bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, La Union, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, and Antique.
The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Cagayan.
The southwest monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of Luzon and Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern and western sections of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions is expected over the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, according to PAGASA.
