Recently, a heated argument between a tricycle driver and his passenger turned into a physical fight on Thursday afternoon along the national highway in Barangay Calinan Poblacion, Davao City.
The simple disagreement ended with pushing, punching, and people stepping in to stop things from getting worse.
In the video, the tricycle driver is seen pushing the passenger, who fell onto the road. Another video shows the driver lying on the ground while the passenger tries to kick him, but bystanders step in to stop the fight.
The driver, identified as Hassim, ended up with a wound on his forehead. The passenger’s child was also seen crying during the incident, clearly distressed by what was happening.
According to police, the argument reportedly began due to a disagreement about religion. The passenger, who admitted to being drunk, started the physical fight. He has apologized to the driver and is now in custody at the Calinan Police Station.
Despite the apology, the driver is considering filing a formal complaint. Witnesses said that both sides seemed to misunderstand each other, but the situation worsened due to alcohol and emotions.
