Over 700 Traffic Violations on 3rd Day of NCAP, MMDA Says

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recorded over 700 traffic violations on the third day of NCAP.

The agency recorded a total of 797 traffic violations on the third day of the reimplementation of the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).

The violations were recorded from 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday until 12:01 a.m. on Thursday. This number is slightly lower compared to the previous two days, which suggests that more drivers may be starting to follow traffic rules again.

NCAP

On the first day of NCAP’s return, which was Monday, the MMDA recorded 1,112 violations. On Tuesday, the number went down to 952. With Wednesday’s count dropping even more to 797, the trend shows an encouraging sign of improvement in driver discipline.

The No Contact Apprehension Policy uses cameras and modern technology to catch traffic violators without needing to pull them over on the road. This helps lessen traffic build-up caused by manual apprehensions and also promotes safer driving habits.

The MMDA hopes that as the days go by, the number of violations will continue to go down as more motorists become aware of the rules and the monitoring system. The goal is not just to catch violators but to remind drivers to follow road rules to keep everyone safe.

Authorities also encourage the public to stay informed about traffic regulations and check if they have any violations through the proper online platforms. With continuous monitoring and driver cooperation, the MMDA believes the policy can help reduce accidents and traffic congestion in Metro Manila.

The agency continues to remind everyone that road safety starts with discipline and that every driver has a role to play.
