Boying Remulla, DOJ Secretary, Speaks on Move To Cancel Passport of Harry Roque
DOJ – Justice Secretary Boying Remulla confirmed he received reports that Harry Roque allegedly has three (3) Philippine passports.
Amid the continued call for him to return to the Philippines and face the accusations against him, former presidential spox Harry Roque is now faced with an arrest warrant issued by a local court in the country. The court released arrest warrants against Roque, Cassandra Ong, and 49 others over their alleged involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country.

However, it is no secret to the public that Harry Roque is currently an asylum seeker in The Netherlands. He previously claimed that he allegedly cannot be deported while the application process is ongoing. According to the former presidential spox, the process may take up to a year and a half.
The DOJ previously confirmed that the assistance of the Interpol may be sought in serving the arrest warrant against Roque. The Justice department admitted that the warrant cannot be directly served to him as he is applying for asylum in The Netherlands.

The DOJ also confirmed that they will seek for the cancellation of the Philippine passport of Roque. However, recently, the Justice department is met with an unexpected report that the former presidential spox allegedly has multiple PH passports.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, DOJ Sec. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla confirmed that he received reports that Harry Roque allegedly has three (3) PH passports. According to the Justice Secretary, he will ask the Department of Foreign Affairs about the reports regarding the travel document of the former presidential spox.
“We will ask the DFA siyempre sila ang gumagawa niyan hindi naman ang DOJ,” the Justice Secretary said.
Furthermore, based on the report, DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla stressed that they will have the issue investigated in depth. He stressed that Harry Roque is allegedly considered a “fugitive from the law” now.
Harry Roque has spoken on the Justice department’s initiative to seek the cancellation of his passport. He previously maintained that he cannot be deported in the Philippines while the Dutch government is considering his application for asylum in The Netherlands.
