Cops Arrest Man for Killing Intruder in Their Home
A man was arrested after allegedly killing an intruder in their home using an axe way back in the year 2000.
Last Saturday (May 17, 2025), the police authorities arrested a 51-year-old man for killing of an individual who allegedly broke into his home back in the year 2000. The suspect claims it was an act of self-defense to protect himself and his wife.
According to police reports, the break-in led to a violent struggle. The intruder reportedly attacked the man with a chisel, injuring both him and his wife. In the middle of the chaos, the homeowner managed to grab an object nearby to defend himself, which happened to be an axe. He used it against the intruder, who later died from the injuries.

The man said he knew the intruder, identifying him as someone who used to court his mother-in-law. He insisted that his only intention was to protect his family during the unexpected attack inside their own home.
After the incident, he was charged with homicide but was released temporarily in 2021 under a surety bond. However, he failed to attend scheduled court hearings. As a result, a new arrest warrant was issued.
He explained that documents proving his temporary release were destroyed when their home caught fire in 2024. He also admitted that he was unaware his bond had expired and couldn’t provide any paperwork to prove his previous compliance with the case.
The man has now been taken back into police custody at the Holy Spirit Police Station in Quezon City. Authorities are waiting for further legal decisions on whether his actions will be considered self-defense or confirmed as homicide. The case remains under investigation.
