Luis Manzano Reflects on Batangas Vice Gubernatorial Loss
LUIS MANZANO – Actor and television host Luis Manzano expressed gratitude to his supporters despite his loss in the Batangas vice gubernatorial race.
Luis Manzano expressed heartfelt gratitude after his loss in the vice gubernatorial race in Batangas. Despite not securing the position, Manzano shared that he still feels like a winner because of the love and support he received from the Batangueños.
In a social media post on Wednesday morning, May 14, Manzano reflected on his campaign journey, emphasizing the meaningful connections he made with the people of Batangas.

“Mga kababayan kong Batangueño, hindi man tayo pinalad sa resulta ng halalan, panalo pa rin ako, dahil sa inyo,” Manzano wrote. “Sa bawat ngiti, kwento, at yakap na ibinahagi n’yo sa kampanya, mas naramdaman ko ang tibok ng puso ng Batangas. Mas napalapit ako sa inyo. Mas nakilala ko kayo, at iyon ay habang buhay kong babaunin.”
Manzano extended his appreciation to his supporters, his family, and to God for being his guiding light throughout the electoral process. He acknowledged the campaign as a joyful and enriching experience and said it marked the beginning of a deeper relationship with his fellow Batangueños.
“Masigla at napakasaya ng kampanya dahil nakasama ko kayo. At kahit tapos na ang eleksyon, ito ay umpisa pa lamang ng matagal pa nating pagsasamahan. Hanggang sa muli. Maraming salamat po,” he added.

On Tuesday, incumbent Governor Hermilando Mandanas was proclaimed as the new vice governor of Batangas. Despite the outcome, Manzano remains optimistic and committed to staying connected with the people of the province.
Meanwhile, his family had notable victories. His mother, the iconic “Star for All Seasons” Vilma Santos, was proclaimed the new governor of Batangas, marking her return to provincial leadership. Additionally, his brother Ryan Christian Recto won the congressional seat for the 6th District of Batangas, which includes Lipa City.
Luis Manzano’s gracious acceptance of his electoral defeat and his message of unity and gratitude resonated with many, further endearing him to the people of Batangas.
