Sen. Cynthia Villar Loses To Incumbent City Councilor in Las Piñas Congressional Race
CYNTHIA VILLAR – The outgoing Senator conceded defeat in the 2025 congressional race but assured continuous service to the people of Las Piñas.
Two (2) members of the family of business giant and former Senate President Manny Villar ran for public office in the 2025 Elections — his wife took the congressional race in the district of Las Piñas while their daughter, Las Piñas district Representative Camille Villar, ran for senator.

However, it seems that the attempt to switch positions between Sen. Cynthia Villar and Las Piñas district Rep. Camille Villar failed. The Senator who is in her last term in the Senate lagged behind in the congressional race in Las Piñas.
Sen. Cynthia Villar lost to an incumbent city councilor in Las Piñas, Mark Anthony Santos. Based on a report on Inquirer, the data from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) transparency server shows that as of 11:32 a.m. on May 13, the Senator’s votes at 78,526 remains to lag behind the 108,206 votes for Santos.

Sen. Cynthia Villar conceded defeat in the 2025 Congressional Race in Las Piñas. Based on the report, she expressed her gratitude to the Las Piñeros for their support and trust to her.

“Thank you very much, Las Piñas! Although we were not lucky in the elections, I sincerely thank you for your support and trust,” she said.
According to Sen. Villar, her service to the people of Las Piñas will not end in her election defeat. Based on the report, she vowed to continue promoting the programs and advocacy that will help the Las Piñeros.
“My service to you does not end here. I will continue to promote programs and advocacy that will help our people,” the Senator said.
Previously, amid her pursuit for a comeback as congresswoman of the district of Las Piñas, Sen. Cynthia Villa downplayed the interest to be a House Speaker. According to her, she just wants to live a simple life.
Amid her loss, the Villar family has something to celebrate for — the looming senatorial win of Las Piñas district Rep. Camille Villar. She is currently on the 10th spot in the partial and unofficial results of the COMELEC.
