Graduating Student Lost P49K Meant for Tuition After Being Robbed in Bacolod City
A graduating student in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, lost P49,000 meant for her tuition after being robbed.
On Thursday evening (May 8, 2025), a graduation female student was robbed 18th Lacson Street, near a gas station behind Colegio San Agustin Bacolod in Barangay 5, while she was on her way back to her dormitory after buying food for dinner.
The lady student, who asked to remain anonymous, had just stepped out to buy a meal from a nearby store. On her way back, while passing through a curve in the street, a man suddenly grabbed her and pointed a knife at her chest.

The young lady demanded that she hand over her plastic bag, which held her dinner, some groceries, and her wallet. Inside the wallet was P49,000 sent by her parents to pay for her and her cousin’s tuition.
Frightened and alone on the street, she couldn’t call for help. The area was quiet at the time, with no passersby to witness or assist.
The man, who wore a black cap and surgical mask, quickly took the bag and ran off, leaving her shaken. She immediately contacted her parents to inform them about the incident and the lost money.
