This is what Ging Reyes said after Sol Aragones endorsed Rodante Marcoleta.
Former ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes expressed her disappointment at Sol Aragones endorsing Rodante Marcoleta.
One of the most vocal detractors against ABS-CBN was Rodante Marcoleta. He pushed the shutdown of broadcast giant ABS-CBN in Congress, and in May 2020, the cease and desist order against ABS-CBN was issued.

Thousands of people lost their jobs, and much has changed in the television scene. ABS-CBN is now a content provider that collaborates with other networks. To recall, he and 69 other lawmakers voted to oppose the franchise renewal application of the media giant.
This upcoming election, he is seeking a senatorial seat, and among those who endorsed him was Sol Aragones, a Laguna gubernatorial aspirant and former ABS-CBN broadcast journalist.
Defending her decision to support Marcoleta, she expressed during an interview with Rappler, “I’m running for governor. All senatorial candidates who approach me and want to join me onstage, I allow them regardless of their political color. But on one condition — that they help my constituents in our desire for a proper hospital.”
She cited that she also welcomed other aspirants, such as Willie Revillame and Vic Rodriguez. She also welcomed the video messages from Bong Go, Francis Tolentino, Bam Aquino, and Pia Cayetano. According to her, this is not about her, but for Laguna.
“My love for ABS-CBN, I fought for that, and that will never go away I respect the opinions of others. I just hope they also respect me in my fight,” she said.
Former ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes reacted to her decision, and she aired her disappointment. In a post, she shared a photo of Aragones raising the hand of the SAGIP party-list representative at what appears to be a campaign event.
In the caption, Reyes wrote, “The month of May is always eventful. More so this year, with the upcoming elections. For me and thousands of Kapamilya, marking [five] years since ABS-CBN’s broadcast shutdown brings back painful memories. That wound was deep.”
