The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Monday vowed to provide necessary assistance to the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who lost his daughter in an accident that occurred in Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Over the weekend, many hearts were broken over this sad news.

The accident claimed the lives of a 5-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man.
The child’s father wailed in pain after seeing his daughter rammed by the SUV. Danmark Masongsong, an overseas Filipino worker, shared that he was about to return to the Czech Republic to work as a machine operator when the tragedy occurred.
Three other members of the family, including his wife, mother, and a niece, also sustained injuries and are currently recovering at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City. His wife was still unaware of their daughter’s death.
One of the two people who died was Dearick Keo Faustino, the breadwinner of their family. He was a senior supervisor at a publishing house. Based on a previous article, the remains of the NAIA car crash had already been brought to their respective homes.
The driver of the SUV that rammed the people, causing deaths, will be facing multiple charges. According to authorities, the driver will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in two counts of homicide, multiple injuries, and damage to property.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has preventively suspended for 90 days the driver’s license of the driver behind the tragic accident. A show cause order was also issued against the registered owner of the vehicle and the driver.
