Tito Sotto received support from Maja Salvador
Actress-host Maja Salvador endorsed the senatorial candidacy of former Senate President Tito Sotto.
It has been a common scenario in Philippine politics that celebrities would endorse certain politicians or party-lists. Most of the time, caucuses, campaign rallies, and political gatherings feature showbiz personalities. Many celebrities have also ventured into politics.
Tito has been in the entertainment industry for many decades. His career in politics has spanned many years already. Over the years, she was able to pursue both careers. He served as a Senate president from 2018 to 2022. His career in politics started in 1988 when he ran for and won as Quezon City’s Vice Mayor.

After the 2022 elections, when he ran for vice president, Tito opted to take a break from politics and focused on hosting the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga.
For the 2025 elections, Tito Sotto decided to return to politics and run for senator and the administration’s ticket. His supporters were happy for his return to the political arena.
Tito also received support from Maja Salvador who became part of Eat Bulaga for quite some time. In her recent Facebook post, she shared a campaign video for her “Ninong.”
“Never late, never absent. Ang senador na maaasahan ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino; ang ating Dabarkads, Senator Tito Sotto. Number 59 sa balota,” the actress said in the video. This endorsement video that Maja shared garnered polarizing reactions from her social media followers. Some agreed with her choice while some blatantly said that they were not voting for the candidate she is endorsing.
Meanwhile, before Maja Salvador released her campaign video for Tito Sotto, she endorsed former Senator Kiko Pangilinan. She highlighted Pangilinan’s 25 years in public service. The actress also said that within this span of time, the husband of Megastar Sharon Cuneta was not involved in any corruption issue.
