It is no secret to the public that Vice Pres. Duterte is not only in bad terms with Pres. Bongbong Marcos but as well as his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Amid the issues and questions surrounding the Confidential Funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd), House Speaker Martin Romualdez previously expressed his belief that only Duterte knows how the funds were used. He stressed that Duterte should attend the hearings and take an Oath.

Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s “kill” remarks against Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez hooked the attention of the Filipinos and the National Bureau of Investigation. The NBI even summoned the Vice President.

Recently, there are rumors that executive secretary Lucas Bersamin, through a circulating Palace memorandum, allegedly suggested replacing House Speaker Martin Romualdez to boost the ratings of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reacted to it.

Based on a report on PhilStar, the Vice President expressed her belief that replacing Romualdez is irrelevant in the situation now. She also claimed that the national budget was allegedly wronged and corrupted.

“I don’t have information about the supposed document on the replacement of Speaker Romualdez. I don’t think that is relevant right now because the damage has been done. What they (House members) did to our national budget was so wrong and corrupt,” Duterte said.

Malacañang previously tagged the rumor as a “fake news”. Based on the report, Executive Sec. Lucas Bersamin also denied the existence of the alleged memorandum.

The ratings of Pres. Bongbong Marcos dipped. Amid the decline of his ratings in the results of the OCTA survey, Marcos Jr. claimed it continues to inspire him.
