Upon her return from The Hague, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte met with her lawyers who she said are “more than confident” to win the impeachment trial against her. According to her, she is most confident with the lawyers who are handling the case.

Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero previously stressed that the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Duterte will push through despite the ICC detention of her father. There were several calls to start the impeachment trial immediately but the Senate chief stressed that the law cannot be bent.

Recently, at the sidelines of a campaign sortie in Zamboanga City, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte spoke shortly about her impeachment trial. Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President explained that she does not talk about her impeachment as she does not want the people to think that her actions are about her interest.

“As I said on the stage earlier, I will not talk about my impeachment because people might think that this is about my interests,” the Vice President said.

Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that she is at peace whether she will be acquitted or charged guilty in her impeachment trial. According to the Vice President, she has accepted whatever the result will be.

“I told them that you just leave the impeachment to me and I am at peace, I am at peace whatever the outcome of the impeachment trial will be, whether I may be acquitted or guilty, I already accepted that, the two possibilities,” Duterte said.

Aside from the impeachment trial, the Office of the Prosecutor also sent summons to the Vice President. According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she will attend the DOJ preliminary probe over her “kill” remark against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
