Malacañang Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Villar-Owned PrimeWater
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President will order an investigation on the PrimeWater owned by Manny Villar’s son as per Malacañang.
The Villar family is a popular clan not only in politics but most especially in business. Currently, their matriarch, outgoing Senator Cynthia Villar is attempting to switch positions with her daughter, Las Piñas City Representative Camille Villar, in the upcoming May 2025 Elections. The senatorial candidacy of Camille Villar is backed by both Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Camille Villar is one of the senatorial bets of Marcos’ Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago. In case she will win the upcoming May 2025 Midterm polls, she will join her brother, Sen. Mark Villar, in the upper chamber.
Business-tycoon Manny Villar and Sen. Cynthia Villar has three (3) children. The other one is Manuel Paolo Villar III who is into business. He is the founder of the Prime Asset Ventures, Inc. and one of its business is PrimeWater. However, the water utility firm is currently surrounded by complaints.
Previously, the officials of Bulacan province called on the revocation of the joint venture agreements between various water districts in the province and PrimeWater. It came amid mounting complaints over the alleged lack of water supply in several municipalities in the province.
Recently, Malacañang spoke on the issue involving the PrimeWater owned by Manuel Paolo Villar. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Palace Press Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro confirmed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will have it investigated.
Malacañang stressed that there is no space for insufficient service under the lead of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on the report, Castro further expressed that the people’s need for clean and enough water supply must be met. She also added that it must not be met for business purpose only but in the pursuit to fulfill the needs of the people.
“Ang kakulangan sa serbisyo ay walang puwang sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr... Mag-uutos po ang Pangulo para maimbestigahan po ito,” she said.
Currently, PrimeWater operates in parts of Bulacan, Batangas, Pangasinan, Cavite, Pampanga, Tarlac, Subic, Camarines Norte, Cabanatuan as well as many other areas in the country.
The Villar family has yet to issue a statement on the looming investigation to be ordered by Pres. Bongbong Marcos over the PrimeWater. Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ Alyansa spoke on Camille Villar’s photos with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
