PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough and ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that LPA’s trough and ITCZ will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (April 30, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The trough of a low-pressure area and the ITCZ will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area and the intertropical convergence zone will bring rains over Palawan and Mindanao.

A low-pressure area was last spotted at 805 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao and embedded along the ITCZ. It has a slim chance of becoming a Tropical Depression.

The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Davao Region.

The ITCZ will bring similar weather conditions over Palawan and the rest of Mindanao.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, dangerous heat index levels are expected in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and 16 other areas. A heat index of 47°C is expected in Dagupan. Heat index under the dangerous category may cause heat exhaustion and heat cramps. Long sun exposure may lead to heat stroke.
