Jessy Mendiola Expresses Support For Vilma Santos: “My Governor”

In a post, Jessy Mendiola expressed her support for her mother-in-law.

Actress Jessy Mendiola supports her “Momski,” Vilma Santos, who is running for governor in the upcoming midterm election.

The midterm election is fast approaching, and those who are running for public positions are doubling their efforts in campaigning. A lot of celebrities have filed their certificates of candidacy. Some have withdrawn, while some pushed through, and among those who are pushing through are former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Vilma Santos-Recto and her sons, Luis Manzano and Ryan Recto.

The former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker is again eyeing leading Batangas as governor. Luis, on the other hand, is her running mate, and Ryan is running for a congressional seat to represent Batangas’ 6th District.

Santos-Recto served as the provincial governor from 2007 to 2016 and is determined to lead again with a HEARTS platform: Health, Education, Agriculture, Roads and Infrastructure, Tourism, and Security.

If her sons were to be elected, they would accordingly give new and youthful innovation that would complement her seasoned governance. To recall, she started her political career in 1998 as mayor of Lipa City until 2007. After being mayor, she was elected as Batangas governor and, later on, represented the province’s 6th District in Congress from 2016 to 2022.

As she eyes a governor seat again, her daughter-in-law, Jessy Mendiola, supportive ever since of their endeavors, especially her husband’s political vision, expressed her support for her. In a post, she called the Star For All Seasons “my governor.”

She admired her energy and devotion to Batangas and the people. She wrote, “My Governor. Si Momski hindi talaga mapapantayan ang energy at pagmamahal niya pagdating sa Batangas at sa ating mga minamahal na BatangueƱo. We love you, Momski.”
