Bongbong Marcos on Decreased Survey Ratings: “It continues to inspire me”

Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Survey Results amid Decline in Ratings

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President claimed that his ratings in the survey continue to inspire him as the people allegedly see the government’s work.

There are several public opinion polling bodies that conduct surveys from time to time to check on the people’s satisfaction of the services of the government and the performance of specific officials. With Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte being seated on the top officials in the government, they are the usual subjects of the trust and performance surveys for almost three (3) years now.

Pulse Asia previously released the results of its survey and it showed a decline in the ratings of Pres. Bongbong Marcos while the ratings of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte increase. Malacañang blamed “fake news” in the decline of Marcos Jr.’s trust and performance ratings.

According to Palace Press Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, the spread of fake news against the President might have affected the survey results. She also raised a question on whether or not the respondents were reached by the programs of the government.

Castro further said that the Pulse Asia survey only had 2400 respondents. According to the press officer of Malacañang, the number of respondents may not represent 100 million Filipinos’ sentiments.

Recently, the OCTA Research issued the results of its Tugon ng Masa survey. Based on a report on Inquirer, the trust rating of the president declined to 60% this month from 65% in November 2024. His performance satisfaction rating dropped from 64% in 2024 to 59%.

Despite the decline of his survey ratings, Pres. Bongbong Marcos sees it positively. Based on the report, he even draws inspiration from the results claiming that the figures are validating what the government is doing.

“It just validates what we are doing, that people are beginning to understand what we have been trying to do for the past two and a half, almost three years. It continues to inspire me because it shows that we’re making progress,” he said.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also expressed that it is good to see that the Filipinos are allegedly realizing that what they are doing will help improve their lives.

“Sometimes you don’t know if what you are doing has any impact on the people,” the President claimed.

Recently, the campaign promise of Marcos Jr. for affordable rice was partially fulfilled with the rice sale in Visayas. The Department of Agriculture allocated P5 billion to subsidize the P20 per kilo rice sale program.
