Shoplifter in Viral Choking Incident Becomes Content Creator
The male shoplifter who was choked by a security guard in a viral video has become a full-fledged content creator.
The shoplifter identified as Christian Sariol, now known online as “Boy Sakat,” has gained attention not just for the incident, but also for his transformation.
In the video, Sariol was restrained by a security guard outside a convenience store after being accused of repeatedly stealing from the establishment. According to the store, Sariol had been under observation for multiple thefts, which led to the guard’s aggressive attempt to stop him.
After the video resurfaced and made the rounds online, rumors began to spread that Sariol had been seriously harmed during the encounter. He later clarified through his own social media that he was not badly hurt and had already served time in detention, spending a month behind bars. For him, the matter was long closed before it went viral.
“Totally matagal na ‘yong video na ‘yon. So ‘yung video na ‘yon pinost ‘yon before pero hindi siya nag-viral,” Sariol said. “So ‘yung time na ‘yon, na-detain ako ng one month. Napagdusahan ko na ‘yong ginawa ko na ‘yon,” he said.
Now, instead of hiding from the past, Sariol is using it to build a new image. He regularly posts online content and has embraced the nickname given to him by netizens. He also uses his platform to reflect on mistakes and shows the importance of second chances.
“So ngayon guys, hihingi lang ako ng kaunting opinyon sa inyo para about do’n sa nanakal sakin,” he added.
He believes that making a wrong choice doesn’t define a person forever, and that people who stray can still find their way back.
