PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (April 24, 2025) 

PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that ITCZ and easterlies will bring rains over some parts of the country. 

On Thursday (April 24, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ and easterlies will affect the country’s weather condition. 

PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting southern Mindanao while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

Dulot ng ITCZ inaasahan makakaranas ng mga kalat kalat na pag-ulan dito sa Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu at Tawi Tawi,” Dominguez said. 

The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, Davao Occidental, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. 

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of Mindanao.

“Para naman sa Palawan, Visayas at nalalabing bahagi ng Mindanao asahan natin ang maaliwalas na panahon pero asahan ang init at alinsangan lalo na sa tanghali at hapon,” she added. 

The easterlies will bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. 

Here are the temperature range in major cities across the country

  • Metro Manila: 25 to 35 degrees Celsius 
  • Baguio City: 18 to 27 degrees Celsius 
  • Laoag City: 25 to 35 degrees Celsius 
  • Tuguegarao: 24 to 38 degrees Celsius 
  • Legazpi City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius 
  • Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius 
  • Tagaytay: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius 
  • Kalayaan Islands: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius 
  • Iloilo City: 27 to 33 degrees Celsius 
  • Cebu: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius 
  • Tacloban City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius 
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius 
  • Zamboanga City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius 
  • Davao City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius 

The weather agency warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. 

However, hot and humid weather condition is expected especially at noon until the afternoon. 

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over eastern section of Luzon, rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA
