Female Driver Criticized for Arguing with Traffic Enforcer After Being Flagged Down

A female driver elicits comments online after refusing to surrender her license after being flagged down over an alleged violation.

On Tuesday (April 22, 2025), the Facebook account Furl Lab has shared a video of a female driver who stood her ground after being flagged down by a traffic enforcer in Tabucan, Mandurriao, claiming she did not commit any violation.

In a video posted on her Facebook, the driver explained that she turned right because the traffic light had already turned green. She refused to hand over her license, firmly stating that she hadn’t broken any traffic rules.

According to Arturo Sajonia Jr., the traffic enforcer assigned to the area, the driver violated traffic regulations by changing lanes to the right from the left lane, which is considered a disregard of traffic signs.

When the enforcer approached the vehicle, the driver informed him she was on Facebook Live. Still, the enforcer calmly explained the reason she was being stopped. The conversation between the driver and the enforcer went on for a while, eventually leading to the police being called in.

The driver, however, insisted that she didn’t see the traffic sign ahead and denied making any lane change. She continued to argue that she stayed within her lane.

It was only past 8:00 PM when the traffic enforcer finally issued a citation ticket for the alleged violation. The fine was set at P200.

The enforcer clarified that vehicles in the left lane are not allowed to make a right turn within 30 meters of the intersection due to the posted traffic signage. The rule is meant to ensure a safe and orderly flow of traffic, especially in busy areas.
