Pres. Bongbong Marcos States Pope Francis Taught People to be Good Christians by Example

BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President issued a statement on the death of Pope Francis and posted a photo of him with the Roman Pontiff.

Countless people are grieving the death of Pope Francis but also celebrating the life that he has lived. Most Roman Catholic Church members are also comforted knowing that the Pope has returned to the Almighty Father. He died shortly after the schedule time for the Angelus prayer.

Undeniably, many tears were shed upon the confirmation of the death of Pope Francis. A lot of people were not expecting it as he is believed to be in the journey towards total recovery. However, just a day after the Easter Sunday, the Roman Pontiff died.

The funeral preparations are ongoing in Vatican now. There are still no details as to the schedule when the Pope will be laid to his final rest but his coffin is set to be transferred to St. Peter’s Square so the faithful can pay their last respects to the Pope.

During his papacy, Pope Francis has visited a lot of countries and meet people from different races. He is also the Pope who has visited the Philippines and has been one with the Filipino people in the face of the Typhoon Yolanda.

Amid the Roman Catholic church members grieving the death of Pope Francis, Pres. Bongbong Marcos issued a statement on social media. The Philippine Chief Executive expressed the country’s unity with the rest of the world in grieving the loss of the Pope.

Describing Pope Francis as “a man of profound faith and humility”, he stated that the Roman Pontiff has led not only with wisdom but with a heart that accepted everyone “especially the poor and the forgotten”.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also stated that Pope Francis, by example, taught the Filipinos to be a good Christian by extending kindness and care to one another. According to him, the humility of the Pope brought a lot of people back to the church.

“As we mourn his passing, we honor a life that brought hope and compassion to so many, and inspired us to love one another as Christ loved us. It is a profoundly sad day,” the President wrote in his post.

There are several potential successors of Pope Francis and one of them is Cardinal Tagle.
